Cartoonist forum

Join our cartoonist forum and learn the business of being a professional cartoonist

Long, long time ago, when my family moved to Canada, I was lucky enough to join a Cartoonist Forum where many different professional cartoonists shared secrets and ideas about the business. I was totally amazed by the kindness shown to me and other newcomers. Topics included what kind of pens and paper should be used, how to add color to cartoons, what kinds of scanners are the best and at what resolution to scan, how to do your taxes, and many more. It was a truly extraordinary online group of cartoonists that helped others without thinking twice.

That’s why we decided to start a new cartooning forum as a way to continue the tradition and have a place for cartoonists to gain information about the business of cartooning. We decided that the best place for it would be on a professional social platform like LinkedIn. It’s called Cartoon Marketing, and you’re welcomed to join!

We welcome everyone to our new cartoonist forum – syndicated cartoonists, gag cartoonists, illustrators or cartoon buyers.

It doesn’t really matter if you a are professional cartoonist or an amateur… Maybe you’re an editor or marketing specialist – both artists and cartoon buyers are welcomed to join! The group has many full-time magazine gag cartoonists, humorous illustrators, animators, graphic designers, and comic strip cartoonists. Some of the members are also children’s book illustrators, as many cartoonists are multi-talented and work in different, although related, art fields. The group is designed to help others and share information about how to market their cartoons, find new markets, as well as share tips about new software, digital tablet techniques and online resources..

This is a way to learn about the nuts and bolts of the business of cartooning.

If you know someone who’s new to the business and needs cartooning information, feel free to share the blog post with them. We also accept articles about cartooning, so grab a cup of hot java (or tea) and jump right in! Join the discussions! Ask questions and share knowledge.

And of course, if you want to sell your cartoons, this is the place to be! Click here and become an eToon.com cartoonist!
